Pictured here, Chase Borders of
Tallassee, Alabama leads the
Open 4-stroke class at Mill Creek
MX.  Weeks later, Chase was
paralyzed from the neck down
when he crashed while practicing
at his home track the day after
graduating high school.

Chase was a very experienced
rider on a well prepared track.  A
mechanical malfunction caused
his motor to lock up and throw him
over the handle bars on a very fast
downhill jump.

If the Leatt Brace had been widely
available and in use and Chase
had been wearing one--he may not
have been injured to the extent he
was.  Safety equipment can and
often does make a huge difference.
